THE ARMY

There is no question in my mind but
that my greatest source of pride is having had the privilege of serving in
the United States Army. Soldiers and veterans sometimes have a
peculiar sense of humor about the service. But the pride and the
honor of the experience are obvious, even in the humor.

I served from 11 February 1982
until 10 June 1986. During that time, I served with the 82d airborne
division in the invasion of Grenada (Operation Urgent Fury), and in
Honduras Central America (Operation Crazy Horse). I went through
basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and attended
the Defense Language Institute, Foreign Language Center at
the Presidio of Monterey, California. I had duty at Goodfellow AFB, Tx;
Ft. Devins, Mass; Ft. Bragg, NC; Ft. Meade, Md; Ft. Huachuca, AZ;
Ft. Ord, Ca; Ft. Clayton, Panama; Lakehurst Naval Air Engineering Center,
NJ; Ft. Monmouth, NJ; Ft. Belvoir, Va; Ft. Dix, NJ; Ft. Jackson, SC; Boca
Chica Naval Air Station, Fl; Truman Annex, Key West, Fl; Howard AFB,
Panama; and Palmerola AFB, Comayagua, Honduras.
Time in service: 4 years, 4
months, 8 hours & 32 minutes.
