Descriptions of Service Providers:  Overview

● Internet Service Providers (such as MindSpring and BellSouth.net)

Typically provide only access to the internet and little if any content.

● Online Service Providers (such as America Online and CompuServe)

Typically provide access to extensive content and internet access.

● Bulletin Board Services (such as dial-up BBS)

Typically provide access to content and forums but no internet access.
